Beach Marianne
Fire Emblem Heroes
Completed: August 2022
- updated December 2022

1st Place at Cosplay Beach Party 2022
Why I chose this costume:
Back in August, I decided to go to the Cosplay Beach Party event, and I just knew I had to make a swimsuit! Marianne is such an iconic cosplay of mine I decided to make this my next rendition of her.

I knew I wanted to make the swimsuit functional so I kept that in mind while planning. I fully lined the suit with swimwear lining, elastic and all!
How I made this costume:
It took me weeks to find the right fabric for this project, which with my tight deadline was tough. I settled on the main blue fabric from Amazon, and a lining from Joann.

I patterned the suit using pre-existing clothes and bathing suits I already had and modified them to match the design. I stash busted the trims from other projects, including my original Marianne from a few months ago. I topstitched and added seams according to the references.

I decided to use tulle for the sarong instead of a regular fabric so it is more functional, but I plan to make a more accurate one eventually!

I also added ruffles to an umbrella to mimic the one in her original design. I didn't do all of the patterning for the sake of time. I wasn't able to transport the umbrella for HolMat, so I had to omit it there.
Final Thoughts:
For the first time I wore this cosplay (Cosplay Beach Party), I placed first in the Contest! Entering was a last minute peer pressure decision but I'm so glad I did. I do look back at the photos I got of the first time I wore her and get a bit self conscious.

When I wore her again to HolMat, I was super nervous how I would feel about it but I loved it! I felt so pretty and got great photos with my friends.
